Things can always change. I mean if you can honestly say that you've never heard of a person that eventually found that they had more than best friend feelings for their best friend then I'll stop this argument right now (Maybe ;D). I mean they may be Platonic friends at the moment but things can always change.
Question: Dear Ms. Rowling, I'd like to ask if there would be a lot of romances between the characters in the upcoming books?
JK Rowling: Good question. I'm having so much fun writing Book 4 because for the first time Harry, Ron, and Hermione are starting to recognize boys and girls as boys and girls. Everyone is in love with the wrong people. Let no one say my books lack realism.
And this quote as already been discused but I thought I would bring it up once more. Everyone is in love with the wrong people. Are you saying that Ron wasn't showing signs of liking Hermione as more than a friend? I mean he was sure jealous of Krum and Hermione's dating. And you are probably a person that believes that Hermione was jealous of Fluer and Ron because she seemed to dislike it when Fleur kissed Ron on the cheek. Well either you're on that side of the argument (which is the side that thinks Hermione had a crush on Ron in the fourth book, which means she's in love with the wrong person) or If your on the side with me (that thinks that Hermione has never liked Fluer starting from the first time she saw her and that that has nothing to do with jelousy, which also means that she doesn't have more than friends feelings for Ron ;D). Pick either side I don't care.
And another thing didn't Ron say 'Hey Hermione you're a girl." which is taking something exactly out of that certain question I'm having so much fun writing Book 4 because for the first time Harry, Ron, and Hermione are starting to recognize boys and girls as boys and girls.
Couric: “Any snogging with Hermione?”
Rowling: “Hermione and Harry?! Do you think so?”
Couric: “No I’m kidding.
Rowling: “Ron and Hermione, I would say, have more tension there
J.K. Rowling never really did answer Katie Courics question there. I mean all she said was that Ron and Hermione have more tension there. Tension can be good in this or bad in this example. They fight A LOT which is another reason I think that they wouldn't have a lasting relationship. Harry and Hermione fight too but not nearly as bad as Ron and Hermione. Just because two people fight DOES NOT mean they are meant for each other. I think I stopped fighting with the guy I liked when I was ten. ::)And though I definatley do not doubt that Ron likes Hermione as a girlfriend I DO NOT think that Hermione returns his feelings. And just because a guy likes you does not mean you have to go out with him right?
The Ginny and Harry thing I think you are right about that. She DOES still like Harry but she's willing to go out with other people. And HARRY still has to learn to like Ginny as more than a friend.
And that's all I have to say. (For Now )
